NHS urgent mental health support (England)

NHS urgent mental health helplines are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. They provide immediate advice, support, and access to local services.

For Derbyshire, you can contact the Derbyshire NHS Urgent Mental Health Helpline on 0800 028 0077.

For South Yorkshire, you can contact the South Yorkshire NHS Urgent Mental Health Helpline on 0800 652 9571.

If you are unsure which area applies to you, either service can help direct you appropriately.

You can also contact NHS 111 by calling 111 for urgent health advice when it is not an emergency.

Listening and emotional support (UK-wide)

Samaritans provide confidential listening support 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. They can be contacted on 116 123, or via their website at https://www.samaritans.org.

Support for women

Women’s Aid support women experiencing domestic abuse. They can be contacted via the National Domestic Abuse Helpline on 0808 2000 247, or through their website at https://www.womensaid.org.uk.

Support for men

CALM (Campaign Against Living Miserably) support men experiencing distress. They can be contacted on 0800 58 58 58, with further information available at https://www.thecalmzone.net.

LGBTQ+ support
